About University of Kerala Distance Education
The University of Kerala is one of the oldest and most famous universities in the state of Kerala. The University of Kerala was the University of Travancore before and was established in 1937.
The University of Kerala was the 16th university of India and the university set up 10 colleges within the state of Travancore. The school of distance education of the university was set up in 1976 with an aim to become the pioneer of distance learning.
The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) because it has maintained the standard of higher education.
The university’s school of distance education has got approval from the Distance Education Bureau or DEB and hence, all its courses are valid everywhere.
The university has also gained accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council or NAAC with an A Grade. The university founded its school of distance education to fulfill some of its objectives, and its objectives are:-

Admission Procedure of Kerala University Distance Education
The admission procedure of the University of Kerala is a general procedure and any student can take admission without much confusion.
Students can also contact the grievance cell of the university in case of any problem faced by them. Here are the things you need to keep in mind while taking admission:-
- Students need to register themselves online prior to taking admission. The university provides the online registration facility on the official website of the university distance education.
- Students also need to check the last date of the application on the website of SDE or in university news. Applications should be submitted before the last date of the application, otherwise, the application will be rejected.
- Then, you need to log in on the portal with your application number and password to complete the application process.
- Then take the print of the application process for future use.
- Also, submit your fees online and save the receipt.
- Then, send your application form, fee receipt, and documents (Original qualifying certificates, photocopy of secondary school leaving certificate, passport size photo & TC) to the office of The Director of DDE of the University of Kerala.
- Applicants from the reserved categories (SC/ST/OEC) need to print E-Grantz online application for fee concession.
