CBSE Issues Important Notification (2025) for Correction of Student’s Board Exam Details: Check here for the details

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notification pdf regarding the correction of student details in the 2025 board exams. The affiliated schools are allowed to make the changes in the student details until 17th April 2025. The correction window named, LOC X and LOC XII can be found on the official website of CBSE. Schools can visit the official website or click here to change the details.

Previously four continuous reminders were issued by CBSE to the schools urging them to submit the correct details. Despite the repetitive instructions released by the board many schools have submitted the incorrect details. So, the schools approached the CBSE demanding a correction. In the prompt to several requests, CBSE has now opened a formal correction window for making the amendments in the student details.

According to the official notification, a charge of ₹1000 per student has been asked for the correction request. The collected amount is to be submitted at the regional CBSE office by the schools of that region. This facility is currently open only to the regular students.

Changes Permitted

CBSE has generated a list of corrections that can be made from the student’s side by the schools. The list includes:-

• Mother’s and Father’s Name Interchanged.
• Photograph correction of the candidate.
• Date of Birth Correction, subject to the rules of the board and valid documents.
• Update the Single Child Status.
• Gender Correction.

In the case involving parents' names, small modifications would be allowed. No full-name replacement will be permitted.

CBSE has further said that a change in category would not be allowed. For instance, if a student has stated that he belongs to the General Category, he cannot change it to the OBC category.

The schools must check the data accuracy and spelling at the time of submission to avoid any further mistakes. And, no more such forums would be provided to correct the mistakes again. Such errors can lead to results being held of the students.
