Who Can Apply?
Candidates willing to apply for a PhD program at Amity University must meet the eligibility requirements listed below-
- Candidates with master’s degrees from Indian or Foreign universities/institutes in the relevant field with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates with a qualified professional program from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India' (ICAI)/ Cost and Works Accountancy of ICWAI/ Company Secretary of ICSI with at least 55 percent marks aggregate will be eligible for a PhD in their relevant field.
- Candidates from foreign countries with master’s degrees from foreign universities must obtain an equivalence certificate from AIU.
- Candidates who have cleared national-level competitive exams such as NET of UGC / CSIR / ICAR (ASRB), ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) / GPAT / ICMR / GATE / DST - INSPIRE within the last 2 years of the application will be exempt from the written entrance test.

Amity Doctoral Program (PhD) Admission Process
Candidates willing to secure admission to the PhD program at Amity University must follow the admission process mentioned below-
- Application submission- The first step in the admission process for PhD program at Amity University is application submission. To submit their application candidates must follow the steps mentioned below-
Step 1- Visit the official website of the Amity University Website.
Step 2- Navigate to the admission section of Amity University.
Step 3- Select the registration link and provide the mobile number and email ID to complete the registration.
Step 4- Save the application number and password provided by the university after preliminary registration.
Step 5- Enter the application number and password to begin the application process.
Step 6- Fill in the details required by the University.
Step 7- Review the information you have entered in the application form.
Step 8- Submit the application form after reviewing it and proceed with the payment of application fees.
Step 9- Select the payment method and accept the payment mandate.
Step 10- Application submission is complete once the application fee is successfully paid.
- Written Test- After successfully submitting the application form, Amity University will issue admit cards for the Amity PhD Entrance Test ( APET). This is a written entrance exam conducted by the university for PhD admissions. All the candidates who have filled out the application forms (candidates who within the last 2 years of filling the application form have qualified for national-level competitive exams such as NET of UGC / CSIR / ICAR (ASRB), ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) / GPAT / ICMR / GATE / DST - INSPIRE are exempted from entrance test).
The Amity PhD Entrance Test ( APET) consists of 2 sections. Section 1 is general and common for all the students and Section 2 subject specific. Section 1 consists of 50 questions of 1 mark each. Section 2 consists of 50 questions of 1 mark each. There are no negative marks in the Amity PhD Entrance Test ( APET).
- Interview- Candidates who have qualified for the Amity PhD Entrance Test ( APET) will be invited for the interview. Candidates who were exempted from the Amity PhD Entrance Test ( APET) will also have to appear for the Interview before the doctoral research committee(DRC) of the Amity University. Candidates appearing for the interview must prepare a detailed research proposal elaborating in detail the research topic, objective of research, methodology chosen, hypothesis, etc. They will have to defend their research proposal before the DRC of Amity University.
- Merit List- Candidates qualifying for the interview will be shortlisted and a merit list will be prepared for their admission to PhD admission in Amity University.
- Admission offer- Candidates will get an admission offer for PhD admission at Amity University based on the merit list prepared after the interview. Candidates are required to accept the admission offer from Amity University and pay the admission fee to secure a seat in the university.
- Start the Program- Start the PhD program at the Amity University.

The examinations for all the online programs at Amity University are held through an online technology-enabled proctored mode. The exam pattern constitutes internal and external examinations. The weightage for internal (assignments) is 30% and for external (end-term examinations) is 70%. The exam comprises 3 sections- Section A (Subjective), Section B (Case Studies), and Section C (MCQs).
