The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) offers higher technical education. Earlier, HSTES was known as HSCS (Haryana State Counseling Society). At present, HSTES offers a specialized pathway for aspiring engineers to advance their education through the B.Tech Lateral Entry program. The program helps various diploma holders to complete their engineering degree in the state at an affordable fee. Haryana State Technical Education Society conducts the OCET (Online Common Entrance Test). Based on the rank, learners will be allotted a seat and colleges.

What Is HSTES B.Tech Lateral Entry?

HSTES B.Tech Lateral Entry Program allows diploma holders and B.Sc. holders from approved universities/institutes can directly enter the second year (third semester) of B.Tech/BE courses in the engineering colleges of Haryana. Being a diploma holder or holding a graduation degree reduces the B.Tech course, which is normally 4 years long, to 3 years for eligible candidates. By providing this opportunity to diploma holders and B.Sc. holders, it helps to close the gap for those candidates looking for an engineering degree, providing a reasonable career enhancement in Haryana’s technical education landscape.
