What is the CMAT Exam?

The Common Management Admission Test, or CMAT, entrance exam is held by NTA. It is a national-level exam for admission to MBA/PGDM courses in reputed management colleges/universities in India.  If you have planned to appear for the CMAT 2026, then the very first step that you will have to take is the registration. This blog will guide you through easy steps to register for the CMAT 2026.  This exam score card is accepted by more than 1300 AICTE-approved institutes, and thousands of students appear for the exams every year.

CMAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

Before registering, students should go to the eligibility criteria:

  • Education Criteria: A bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized institute.
  • Last year students: Final year students are also eligible to apply.
  • Age limits: No upper age limit when applying.
  • Minimum percentage: There is no minimum percentage needed for the CMAT registration 

How to Register for CMAT 2026?

Students need to follow the steps mentioned below for their CMAT 2026 registration and complete the application process:

Step 1: Visit https://cmat.nta.nic.in, and click on “CMAT 2026 Registration.” Make sure to read all instructions before proceeding.

Step 2: Click on “New Registration.” And fill in the basic criteria such as:

  • Student’s full name
  • Date of birth
  • Father's and Mother's names
  • Valid Email ID and mobile number
  • Choose a safe password

Step 3: Log in using the Application number and password, and fill out the required details: 

  • Educational qualification: The Class 10, Class 12, and graduation marks and year. 
  • Personal Details: These details include Gender, Category, Nationality, ID proof, etc.
  • Contact Details: Address, pin code, city, district, state.
  • Examination City Preferences: students can select up to 4 exam cities in preferential order.

Step 4:  Students will have to upload scanned images of the following documents and the list of documents mentioned below:

Documents Required for CMAT 2026 Registration

This is the list of documents a student will prepare before applying for CMAT registration: 

  • Degree mark sheets or final year details
  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  • Scanned photograph and signature
  • A valid ID proof (Aadhaar card, Passport, Driving License, etc.)
  • Caste/category certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD certificate (if applicable)
  • A valid email ID and mobile number
  • Payment method (debit/credit card, UPI, or net banking)

CMAT 2026 Form Correction Window

NTA will also provide the students with a few days of correction period once the registration closes. This correction period will allow the students to correct any mistakes reflected in the application form. The following are the four areas the students can modify:

  • Personal information 
  • Educational qualification 
  • Uploaded photograph or signature
  • Preferred exam cities.

Note: After the application form is submitted, the students cannot change their email ID, mobile number, or exam fee.

Avoid These Errors While Registering for CMAT

Here is the list of the errors students are required to avoid while registering:

  • Fill in the CMAT registration form as soon as it starts to avoid the last-minute technical issues.
  • Students are required to double-check their name, date of birth, and any other personal details.
  • Review their application carefully once before clicking the final submission.
  • Use a working and regularly checked email ID and mobile number.
  • Ensure to refer to the prescribed scanned format of your photo and signature.

What Happens After Registration?

After finishing the registration for CMAT 2026, here is what you can expect post-registration:

  • You will need to wait for the admit card, which will be available on the official website once issued by NTA.
  • You will need to prepare well for the examination by going over the CMAT syllabus.
  • On the exam day, you will need to bring your admit card, a valid ID, and arrive at the centre on time.
