Higher Education Institutes to get registered on BioRRAP, UGC Asked

The Government of India (GOI) launched the Biological Research Regulatory Approval Site (BioRRAP), an integrated portal, with the goal of supplying regulatory information to research academics to expedite clearances.

Therefore, for this reason, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has urged all affiliated colleges and higher education institutions to register on the BioRRAP website.

The reason UGC asked this is because BioRRAP is a type of digital gateway whose goal is to increase access to science and scientific research as well as make it simpler to start businesses. From this point forward, BioRRAP will be connected with all approved international research projects by GOI Departments or Ministries; these projects or proposals may be followed using a specific BioRRAP ID.

All higher education institutions have been under tight instruction from UGC to register on the platform as soon as possible.

The UGC specified in the notice whether the projects or plans would fall under the purview of the Central or State Governments, although all approvals would be handled by the Government of India. The state authorities are also recommended to send any projects or suggestions pertaining to this immediately to the appropriate ministries of the Indian government.

The Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) connected to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will evaluate any initiatives or proposals pertaining to studies on people, animals, plants, and the environment. To examine these researches, only the NGOs that have been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) are authorized.

The only aim to launch the BioRRAP portal is to make getting regulatory approvals easier. Such projects or proposals need to get regulatory approvals, as without these approvals they cannot proceed with their work, for them registering on the BioRRAP portal is necessary. The researcher can easily track the status of their submitted projects on the portal by the unique BioRRAP ID that is given when the project is submitted on the portal. From this ID the project goes to the concerned regulatory authority, from where it gets approved or rejected.

If someone does not register their project or proposal on the BioRRAP portal they would not be able to submit their projects directly to the concerned regulatory authority. This is because now it is mandatory for a project to be submitted by the unique BioRRAP ID, which can only be obtained after the successful submission of the project on the BioRRAP portal.

New researchers and students who want to know whether their organization or institute is registered on the BioRRAP portal or not can check through this BioRRAP portal.

Or if you want to verify your college or university whether it is fake or valid check out the College Vidya Verify Portal for the same.
