Applicants are promoted to the second year of the B.Tech program based on their qualifications, i.e. 3-year polytechnic diploma. The program is approved by the AICTE, so equivalent to the regular B.Tech program. 

The advantage of enrolling in the HMRITM B.Tech Lateral Entry program in Delhi is that candidates don’t require any working experience if they apply for the program. But they need to register for the entrance exam, IPU-CET, to enroll in the program.

Who can enroll for the B.Tech Lateral Entry Program at HRMITM in Delhi? 

Applicants need to follow the guidelines if they are planning to sign up for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program in Delhi from HRMITM: 

  • Learners are required to complete the 3-year diploma in engineering/ technology from an approved university/institute. 
  • B.Sc. graduates with a Mathematics subject from a recognized university can enroll for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program. 
  • It is necessary for learners to earn at least 60% marks overall. 

Note: candidates having a diploma in Architecture aren’t entitled for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program. 

Admission Criteria: B.Tech Lateral Entry HRMITM 

The eligibility criteria are fulfilled; after that, applicants can enroll for the B.Tech Lateral Entry in Delhi. They are supposed to apply for the CET entrance exam, and the seat would be allotted based on the rank. 

All applicants must appear in the CET conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The admissions would be based on the merit/rank obtained by the candidate in the CET.

Steps to apply for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program at HRMITM

  • Appear for the GGSIPU Common Entrance Test (IPU-CET), the university-level exam for lateral entry candidates.
  • Moreover, applicants can apply using JEE Main scores, as per GGSIPU guidelines.
  • Register online on the GGSIPU admission portal once the CET results are declared
    Attend counselling, choose HMRITM, and the preferred B.Tech Lateral Entry branch.
  • Once allotted a seat at HMRITM, pay the required admission and tuition fees within the stipulated time.
  • Submit the original documents along with self-attested photocopies at counselling/admission.
  • Submit the fee for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program. 
  • After document verification and fee payment, confirm your admission and report to HMRITM before the deadline.
  • Collect your enrollment/admission letter, timetable, and other joining formalities.

Note: 10% of seats are reserved under management quota, filled based on merit

HRMITM B.Tech Lateral Entry Fees 

Students have to deposit the fees annually. Furthermore, the mode of payment is online. Therefore, learners have to pay the fee online.

Engineers after polytechnic are aiming to enhance their knowledge, so they take a confident step forward to apply for B.Tech Lateral Entry. But, working professionals can’t enroll for the B.Tech Lateral Entry program because of their professional commitments. Such applicants are looking for the online B.Tech program to balance their jobs and higher studies. However, Online B.Tech is not approved by the AICTE and UGC, as the program offers essential technical knowledge that can’t be effectively communicated online to prospective applicants

As an alternative, the B.Tech for Working Professionals program is approved. The program follows a hybrid mode, which can be easily managed by professionals despite hectic schedules. As per the guidelines of the regulatory bodies, online classes are introduced on weekends or after working hours. In addition to that, facilities like virtual labs and remote labs are introduced to help learners gain a clearer and deeper understanding of the program. Applicants have to visit the lab on campus on weekends or evenings as scheduled by the campus.
