The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has again announced the extended dates for admission to the 2025 session till March 15, 2025. However, the earlier date of February 28, 2025. The eligible students may register for the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs via the official IGNOU websites ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (ODL courses) or ignouiop.samarth.edu.in (Online programs).
As per the announcement from IGNOU, the acknowledgments involve a non-refundable registration fee, and fees for the first year or first semester of the respective program will be due at the time of applying. According to an official notice by the IGNOU, the closing date of Fresh Admissions for ODL and online programs has been extended from February 28, 2025, to March 15, 2025, for the January 2025 session. What are the Eligibility Criteria?
IGNOU provides over 200 courses in various programs, including diplomas, certificates, and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The eligibility criteria are different for different programs. Therefore, students must check out specific details on the official website of IGNOU. Some general eligibility criteria go like this:
- Undergraduate Courses: Students with a 10+2 certificate or an equivalent qualification from an approved board are required.
- Diploma Courses: It is necessary to have completed 10+2 from a recognized board for candidacy in the diploma course.
- Postgraduate Courses: A bachelor's degree from a recognized university is mandatory.
What are the Documents Required?
During registration for IGNOU, the following documents of specified file size must be submitted:
- Passport-size photo – 100 KB.
- Student's signature – 100 KB.
- Scanned image of the educational certificate(s) – 200 KB.
- Caste Certificate (OBC/SC/ST) (if applicable) – 200 KB.
- Work experience certificate (if applicable) – 200 KB.
What are the steps for enrolling?
To apply in the January 2025–26 session, the following steps need to be fulfilled by the students:
- Visit the IGNOU official website.
- Next, click on the link "January Admissions 2025" directly from the homepage.
- Then, select the preferred course out of the options for online (and ODL) courses.
- Then, fill in the application form and upload the required documents.
- Submit your completed application and pay the necessary fee.
- Print out the application that was successfully submitted for future reference.
What are the Fees for Registration?
The registration fee is refundable before the confirmation of admission, it is non-refundable. However, if cancellation is requested after confirmation, a cancellation fee of up to 15% of the total amount (maximum deduction of ₹2,000) will apply.
Refund Policy
The students choosing a soft copy of the SLM will receive only a refund of the registration fee. In case of any fee exemption, development charges only shall be refunded. No refund shall be entertained after 60 days from the date of closing of admissions.
