The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration closing date for brand-spanking new admissions to 10th September 2024, In its notice offered via online and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) modes. However, the closing date for IGNOU's July 2024 admission cycle stays unchanged for semester- and certificate-diploma programs.

IGNOU released the notice at X Platform (Formerly referred to as Twitter) that  "Extension of the registration date for July 2024 Fresh Admissions till September 10, 2024, for all applications presented in ODL/Online mode for the July 2024 admission (except  for the Semester-based and Certificate programs)."

Students who are interested in applying for fresh admissions to undergraduate, graduate, degree, and certificate programs can submit that through the official ODL and online portals. Current students who need to be re-registered for the coming fourth semester or academic year can complete the process via the re-registration portal.

Students who are interested in enrolling in IGNOU's Open and Distance Learning (ODL) packages can register themselves from the reputable website of IGNOU: Ignou admission form.

Who can apply for Registration?

Those students who want to join admission at IGNOU have to meet set criteria for the registration process for the desirable courses. The eligibility criteria for IGNOU admissions are mentioned below:

  • For undergraduate Courses: Students must have completed their Class 12th or an equal diploma program from a diagnosed board.
  • For postgraduate Courses: Students must have completed their bachelor's degree from a UGC-authorised college or institute.

What Documents Needed for the Registration

Here is the list of the documents students require for the registration process at IGNOU, and the list of files with the unique size allocated by the IGNOU is mentioned below:

  • Passport-size photograph of the Student (100 KB)
  • Signature of the student (!00 KB)
  • Scanned photocopy of student’s academic certificate (200KB)
  • Students need to submit caste certificates if they lie in special categories (200 KB)
  • A proof of work experience in if the student has  (200 KB)

How can you Apply for the Registration

Here are the steps that students are required to take for the successful registration process at IGNOU:

  • Step 1: Students want to go to  IGNOU's official Website.
  • Step 2: Then they fill out the eligibility criteria set by the IGNOU for the registration process.
  • Step 3: Scanned and then uploaded all relevant documents requested as per the list of IGNOU for the registration process.
  • Step 4: Verify your information after finishing it then pay the registration fees.
  • Step 5: After finishing the registration process, keep the receipt/message or email for future use.

What is the fee structure for the Registration?

Those students registering for any UG, PG, or Diploma program at IGNOU need to pay a registration fee of Rs 300. If any person cancels their application earlier than admission confirmation, IGNOU's refund policy allows them to get an entire refund of the program fees. However, if a cancellation request is submitted after admission affirmation, 15% of this cancelation, and it rises to the amount of Rs 2,000, is probably withheld from the fee, in step with the reliable IGNOU statement.

In the IGNOU Notice, IGNOU advised students: "If your online fee isn't up to date without delay, please do no longer make a 2nd fee right away ." Wait for a while maybe a day, check the fee confirmation, and make your selection."
