UGC NET 2025 Exam Dates & Admit Card – Download Hall Ticket

UGC NET is the derivative of the University Grants Commission- National Eligibility Test. The purpose of this competitive examination is to determine the eligibility of Indian students to get a fellowship for academic research or an Assistant Professor position. 

This examination is conducted twice every year, in June and December. The UGC NET 2025 June will be held from 25th June to 29th June 2025. The date sheet for the examination and the admit card will be provided on the official website of UGC NET.

Students who want to get their doctoral degree and are not able to crack this competitive examination need not worry. They can get their doctorate through an online DBA programme. Online DBA is equivalent to a regular full-time PhD. Students will also have a research experience during their program.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UGC NET 2025 are: 

• Candidates who have a master’s degree and have scored 55% or above from a recognised university.
• Students who have 4 4-year undergraduate degree and scored 75% or above from a recognised university can apply for JRF but not for Assistant Professor.
• The upper age limit of JRF is 30 years for students from the unreserved category, and students belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL/ PWD/Third gender have an age relaxation up to 35 years.

Students who missed the cut-off marks for UGC-NET need not worry; they can pursue a doctoral degree through DBA. 

Eligibility Criteria for the online DBA program:

• Students who have their bachelor’s degree with 5 years of field experience
• Master’s degree or equivalent 

UGC NET Exam Date

The UGC NET is conducted twice a year- in June and December. The UGC NET exam in June will be conducted from 25th June to 29th June 2025. There are a total of 85 subjects that will be held between the dates. Students can check the official website of UGC NET for the subjects and their dates of examination.  

Applicants need to download the admit card and carry it to the examination center; without the admit card, students won’t be able to enter the center. Students can check the exam dates for their respective subjects!

As for an online DBA program, there are no competitive exams. Students can check the other eligibility criteria of the university they are applying to.

UGC NET Exam Admit Card

The UGC NET 2025 June exam will be held between 25th June to 29th June 2025, and the admit cards will be available a few days before the exams. Applicants need to check the personal details given on the admit card and their exam center. 

Students need to download their admit cards before the day of the examination to avoid any hassles. On the day of the examination, they need to present the admit card at the gate before entering the examination center. Without an admit card, students will not be allowed to enter their respective centers to give their exams.

Students need to check their details on the admit card before their examination day. Basic details are:

• Applicant’s Name and their parents’ names
• Applicant’s Date of Birth
• The subject they have applied for
• Applied for details
• Address of the examination centre
• Self-declaration (Undertaking)

Students can follow these steps to download the admit card:

1. Visit the official website of UGC NET at https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in
2. Log in to your account by putting your username and password
3. Click on the ‘admit card’ option after logging in 
4. Download the admit card 
5. Make a printout of the admit card for your exam day

Exam Day Tips

 The UGC NET Exam is usually conducted in two shifts. Students need to check at which shift their exam will be held. Here are a few exam tips for students appearing for UGC NET 2025:

• Students need to reach their test centers at least half an hour before their examination.
• They should take a photocopy of the admit card with them 
• Students should bring their government-issued ID proof and passport-sized photos for the examination.
• The exam will be conducted in CBT mode; students need not bring anything else. 
• Students can refer to the instructions manual given along with their admit card.

Beyond UGC NET: DBA

Students who wish to pursue a PhD can also apply to an online DBA program. To enroll in a PhD program, students don’t need to take any entrance exams. Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) is an online program that is considered equal to a regular PhD. Students who don’t want to appear for the UGC NET competitive exam or couldn’t get a fellowship in JRF can apply for the DBA to get their doctorate. Working professionals who want to get their doctoral degree but couldn’t due to workload can also apply for an online DBA and earn the ‘Dr’ title.

• Students can take classes at their convenience.
• DBA focuses on business knowledge for both national and international markets
• A DBA specializes in practical knowledge and management.
• Students can complete their research work and submit it within 3 years of their program.
• Students will also get a chance to complete their online DBA from a WES-recognised university.
