UGC Notice

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will be shutting the window for CSEET January 2026 registration on December 15, 2025. If any candidate has not done with the filling out the forms, then he/she must hurry up to complete the registration on the official ICSI website since no grace period has been given. The entrance exam for the January cycle will be held on January 10, 2026.

CSEET is the first step to be cleared by students willing to join the CS Executive Programme. The application fee for the exam is Rs. 2,000, and registration is deemed to have been done only after the payment is successful.

Exam Format and Key Details

The CSEET assesses candidates from the following major areas:

  • Business Communication
  • Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning
  • Economic and Business Environment
  • Current Affairs and Quantitative Aptitude

ICSI will be holding the test in the Remote Proctored Mode. Hence, a candidate can take the test in his/her own home or any other place of convenience. The test will also be monitored digitally through live invigilation. As per the exam rules, the use of calculators, rough sheets, pens, or notebooks is strictly forbidden.

Those who take CSEET shall ensure that they get:

  • Not less than 40% marks in each paper and
  • 50% aggregate overall

It is worthwhile mentioning that there is no negative marking, hence students can attempt all the questions without fear of losing marks.

CS is a UGC recognised degree registered in equivalence to a masters degree, which allows the CS programme to have both high academic and professional value.

Who Can Apply for CSEET January 2026?

Students who have passed Class 12 or are going to sit for their Class 12 examinations can apply. However, a few groups of candidates are exempt from taking CSEET such as:

  • Students who have passed the CS Foundation examination.
  • Final-level passed candidates of ICAI or ICMAI.
  • Graduates with 50% or more marks.
  • All postgraduates.

These candidates are allowed to take direct admission to the CS Executive Programme thus skipping the CSEET.

ICSI holds CSEET once every three months in January, May, July, and November providing students with multiple chances to ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌pass.
