JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration Now Open: Everything You Need to Know

If you are going to appear for JEE Main in 2026, you must be aware of this vital piece of information, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the commencement of the application window for the first session of the exam!

Registration Timeline You Can't Miss

The registration process started on 31 October 2025 and you are allowed to submit your application till 27 November 2025 (9:00 PM). Remember that the payment deadline is a bit later than the last moment of registration, so do your payment by 11:50 PM on 27 November if you choose to pay with a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI.

Exam Date

A large number of JEE Main 2026 Session 1 is scheduled to take place from 21 Jan 2026 to 30 Jan 2026.

Thanks to the NTA, in the first week of January 2026, the exam center's city will be informed and you will also be given an option, not long after, to download your admit card, from the official site—you will probably remember that later.

The results would likely be announced by 12 Feb 2026, of course if everything goes as planned.

Two Opportunities 

JEE Main 2026 is made up of only two sessions.

A session in January and a session in Apr 2026, since registering for one may be convenient or beneficial to your preparation, gave you a choice to take either.

You know what is super beneficial? After registering for the January JEE Main exam and arriving at the JEE App website, NTA would give you another opportunity to log in and register for your second session as well! So no having to go through all the work again to re-register!

What Does the Exam Look Like?

It's worth mentioning that the exam will be fully computer, based.

Definitely for B.E./B.Tech aspirants (Paper 1): Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are the areas from which questions would be asked.

Just imagine three different areas for B.Arch students (Paper 2A): the paper would cover Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.

What about B.Planning? The answer is Mathematics, Aptitude, and Planning, based concepts.

Each day there are two shifts, the morning which is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and the afternoon 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

One of the best things about JEE Main is that it's available in 13 languages, including: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This allows students from all over India to take the test in settings that they are most comfortable with.

Things to Know Before Applying

One application per candidate only. If you submit more than one applications, you may be disqualified. Hence, do a thorough check before you submit.

Your email and mobile number are very important. NTA will communicate with you only via these, hence, you should be absolutely sure that the details you provide during registration are correct.
