The Indian Air Force has announced the AFCAT 1 Result 2026 for the Air Force Common Admission Test,2 today, March 11, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination held on January 31, 2026, can now check and download their scorecards and merit list from the official website afcat.edcil.co.in.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 340 vacancies for Group A Gazetted Officer posts in the Flying Branch, Ground Duty, and Ground Duty branches. The AFCAT exam is a major gateway for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Air Force as commissioned officers.

Candidates can follow these steps to download their scorecard:

1. Go to the main website afcat.edcil.co.in 
2. Tap on the link “AFCAT-01/2026 Result has been declared” visible on the homepage
3. You will be redirected to the candidate login page.
4. Enter your registered Email ID and Password.
5. The AFCAT 01/2026 scorecard will appear on the screen.

The scorecard includes the following information:

• Candidate’s name and registration number
• Section-wise marks obtained
• Total marks scored
• AFCAT cutoff marks
• Qualifying status for the next stage
• Category-wise ranking details

Candidates who score equal to or above the cutoff marks will be shortlisted for the Air Force Selection Board testing.

AFCAT 2026 Marking Scheme

AFCAT 2026 Selection Process

Qualifying for the written examination is the first stage of the recruitment process. Shortlisted candidates must go through several additional stages before final selection.

1. AFSB Registration
   Candidates must register for the AFSB interview through the official portal. The exam date and centre details will be sent via registered email and mobile number.
2. AFSB Testing (4–5 Days)

Day 1: Screening Test

• Officer Intelligence Rating Test
• Picture Perception and Discussion Test 

Only candidates clearing the screening stage proceed further.

Days 2–4: Psychological and Group Tests

• Psychological Tests: Thematic Apperception Test, Word Association Test, Situation Reaction Test, Self-Description Test
• Group Tasks: Group Discussion, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Tasks, Half Group Tasks, Lecturette
• Personal Interview with an Interviewing Officer
• Computerised Pilot Selection System for Flying Branch candidates

3. Medical Examination
   Candidates who clear the AFSB tests must undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet the physical and medical standards prescribed by the Indian Air Force.
4. Final Merit List
   The final selection will be based on combined performance in the written exam, AFSB testing, and medical fitness. Selected candidates will be commissioned as Flying Officers and sent for training at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, in Telangana.
