AIIMS Delhi Announces PhD Admission Process for January 2026 Session

Applicants have been invited to take admission to the PhD programme by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, for the January session. However, admission will be granted with an entrance exam, which will be in online mode. Candidates can start the registration process from 12th January 2026 till 26th January 2026. Also, note that the entrance exam is going to be on 7th February 1016 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.

AIIMS PhD 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are thinking of appearing for the PhD programme need to fulfill at least one of the following criteria:

Medical Qualification

Applicants must have at least one of the following qualifications. Moreover, a minimum of 55% aggregate marks is also required:

• MBBS / BDS
• MD / MS / MDS
• DM / MCh
• Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations (DNB) in the concerned subject

Nursing Qualification

Candidates holding an MSc degree in Nursing Specialty with at least 55% aggregate marks are eligible for PhD admission in the College of Nursing.

Non-Medical Qualification

For the Non-Medical category, candidates must hold a Master’s degree (two-year course) awarded by an Indian university, as per the requirements of the concerned research project.

The following qualifications are considered eligible under the non-medical category:

• MSc 
• MTech
• BAMS
• BHMS

Candidates applying under this category must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

Important Eligibility Note

• Candidates who have obtained their Master’s degree through distance learning mode are not eligible to apply for the AIIMS PhD programme.
