UGC Notice

The time is now finally here, where the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) has started the examination of AP Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 from February 23. The important instructions for all the students who want to be a part of this examination are to download the admit card as soon as possible from the main site, which is bie.ap.gov.in.

It is noteworthy that the examination, which started on February 23, 2026, will continue till March 24, 2026. One thing which all students should not miss is to download and carry a printed copy of the admit card to the examination centre, as without an admit card, entry at the examination centre is not allowed.

Over 10.57 Lakh Students Appearing

One interesting fact about the AP INTER IPE examination is that more than 10.57 lakh students are appearing for the examination.

  • First-Year Students: Over 5.31 lakh
  • Second-Year Students: Around 5.26 lakh

There are multiple centres in which the examination is scheduled to take place that also under strict guidelines, so all the students are advised to follow the exam day guidelines to make the examination smoother.

Major Changes in Exam Pattern for 2026

All the students should know that the board has introduced significant changes in the examination pattern this year.

Answer Booklet Revision

  • First-year students will now receive a 32-page main answer booklet instead of the earlier 24-page booklet.
  • No additional sheets will be provided.
  • Second-year students will continue with the 24-page answer booklet.

All answers must be written within the provided booklet only.

Subject Paper Restructuring

In a major academic update:

  • Mathematics 1A and 1B have been merged into a single paper.
  • Botany and Zoology have been combined into one consolidated Biology paper.

This move is expected to reduce the number of separate examinations students are required to write.

Introduction of One-Mark Questions

One-mark objective questions have been introduced in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Botany
  • Zoology

The objective section aims to strengthen evaluation standards and improve assessment transparency.

Syllabus Aligned with NCERT

BIEAP has aligned the Intermediate syllabus with NCERT guidelines to better support students preparing for national-level entrance examinations such as:

  • Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
  • National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)

Officials stated that the revision aims to bring uniformity in academic standards and enhance competitive exam readiness.

Updated Assessment Criteria

The board has also revised certain pass criteria and evaluation methods while retaining:

  • Internal assessments
  • Practical examinations
  • Theory examinations

This ensures a comprehensive evaluation system for students.

Important Instructions for Students

  • Carry hall ticket on every exam day
  • Verify all details mentioned on the admit card
  • Report discrepancies to the respective college authorities immediately
  • Reach the exam centre as per reporting time
