CBSE Announces 75% Attendance Norm for 2025-26 Session Board Exam; SOPs Released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new directive on 4th August, reiterating the essential requirement of the 75% attendance norm for the 2025-26 session of academics. The decision came for the students, who would be appearing for the class 10 and 12 board exams.

This CBSE directive was issued now in continuation of the earlier circular published on 9th October 2024. It aims to have compliance with the Rules 13 and 14 of the CBSE Examination Bye-Laws.

Important Guidelines for the Schools

Mandatory Awareness and Sensitisation.
Schools must inform the students and parents about the importance of the regular attendance at the beginning of the session.
They must explain all the rules, the reasons of shortage, and the grounds for attendance shortage.
