The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the Class 10 Board Result 2026, and soon after, the board has opened the process for the second board examination. Schools can begin submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) from April 16, 2026.

Key Instructions for Schools & Students

CBSE has issued important guidelines for the second board exam:

  • Students who missed the first phase can still apply by paying the required fee.
  • Candidates already registered need to pay only the examination fee.
  • Students have the option to withdraw if they do not wish to appear.
  • Mathematics subject level can be changed (Standard ↔ Basic).
  • No changes in other subjects will be permitted.
  • Students can improve performance in up to three subjects.
  • Students in the Essential Repeat (ER) category are not eligible.
  • Compartment students can apply only through their schools as per CBSE rules.
  • CWSN (Children With Special Needs) candidates will continue receiving existing benefits; no new registrations allowed.
  • If a student is absent in the second exam, the main exam result will be considered final.
  • The syllabus will remain the same as the Main Exam 2026.
  • No corrections or changes will be allowed after the LOC submission.

CBSE has urged schools to carefully follow all instructions and submit accurate student details within the given timeline.

CBSE Notice for Private Candidates

In a separate notification, CBSE has also invited online applications from private candidates for the Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026. Additionally, students from the 2024–25 session who were placed in the compartment category, including those who could not appear earlier, are now eligible to apply under the third chance compartment category through the official CBSE website.
