UGC Notice

The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a fresh notice regarding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the second Class 10 board exam.

If you’re thinking of appearing for the second exam, this is the part where things get a bit procedural and slightly confusing if you don’t pay attention.

LOC Submission Process Explained

CBSE has split the entire process into three phases. Not one, not two, three. Each with a specific purpose.

Phase 1:

  • Only basic LOC details will be filled
  • No fee required
  • This stage is mainly for the board to estimate how many students might appear

Think of it like a “just checking who’s interested” step.

Phase 2 and Phase 3:

  • Students can add, modify, or even drop subjects
  • Final candidature can be confirmed
  • Examination fee must be paid

This is where things actually get locked in.

Important Things Students Should Know

The process will be handled entirely through your school. No direct student submissions here, so staying in touch with your school is non-negotiable.

Also, here’s something many people miss:
If you complete the LOC process, pay the fee, and then decide not to appear in the second exam, your main exam result will still be considered final.

CBSE’s Strict Warning to Schools

Now, this part feels very targeted, and probably for a reason.

CBSE has clearly stated that some schools are asking students to pay extra tuition fees (like 2–3 months) during LOC submission. That’s not allowed.

The board has instructed schools to:

  • Charge only the official examination fee
  • Avoid any additional or unofficial payments
  • Follow CBSE guidelines strictly

Any violation? The board says it will be taken seriously. Which, in CBSE language, usually means don’t test us.

What Should You Do?

Honestly, just keep it simple:

  • Stay in touch with your school
  • Double-check your subject choices before final submission
  • Pay only the official fee, nothing extra

This second exam option is useful, no doubt. But only if you handle the paperwork right. One small mistake here, and you’re stuck explaining it later.
