CBSE Revaluation 2026: Rechecking Process, Fee Structure, Portal and Important Dates

The re-evaluation process for Class 12 students is live now for all the candidates. This is a newly introduced system and is designed to improve transparency and simplify access to answer sheets. All those students who wish to review their marks now have the opportunity to complete the process online through the official CBSE site. 

The two-stage re - evaluation model, this model is adapted by the board, so that students must first obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for mark verification or answer re-evaluation.

How Does CBSE Revaluation 2026 Work?

Know that now, the entire rechecking process is digital for Class 12 board exams in 2026. The system allows students to first inspect their answer scripts and then decide whether to proceed with further review.

The process is divided into two stages:

Stage 1: Obtain Scanned Answer Sheet

Students must first request a scanned copy of their answer book to review the evaluation.

• Fee: ₹700 per subject
• Window: May 20 to May 25, 2026

After receiving the scanned copy, students can compare it with the official marking scheme and identify any discrepancies.

Stage 2: Verification or Re-Evaluation

Once students review their answer sheets, they can choose one of the following:

1. Verification of Marks
   This process checks for:

• Totalling errors
• Unmarked answers
• Mistakes in mark entry

Fee: ₹500 per answer book

2. Re-Evaluation of Answers
   Students may request re-checking of specific responses if they believe marks were incorrectly awarded.

Fee: ₹100 per question

Scale of the New Digital System

CBSE’s updated mechanism covers nearly 17 lakh Class 12 students and around 98 lakh answer books, translating into nearly 40 crore scanned pages. According to official data, around 4 lakh students have already accessed over 11 lakh answer sheets to review marking and raise concerns.

The system has been developed with technical support from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Technology Madras, along with support from public sector banks for payment processing and digital integration.

• Obtaining the scanned answer sheet is mandatory before requesting re-evaluation.
• Students should carefully compare answers with the marking scheme before applying.
• Re-evaluation applies only to selected questions, not the entire paper.
• Applications must be submitted online within the deadline through the official CBSE portal.
