CBSE Fact-Checks Viral Fake Circular Claiming Board Exam Rescheduling

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dismissed a viral circular circulating on social media that falsely claims CBSE board exams scheduled for today in the Middle East have been rescheduled. The board clarified that no such notice has been issued and described the message as completely fake.

The viral notice alleged that the dates of several board examinations, including the Class 12 English paper, had been changed in countries such as Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. However, CBSE has officially refuted the claim and urged students, parents, and schools not to believe or share unverified information.

According to the board, the fake circular has been widely circulated on social media platforms like Twitter and WhatsApp and was falsely attributed to the CBSE Controller of Examinations. CBSE clarified that the notice is neither authentic nor issued by the board, and its verified social media handles have also labelled the message as fake. Students have been advised to rely only on official announcements published on the CBSE website.

The clarification comes amid recent exam schedule changes in some Middle East centres. Due to security concerns linked to regional tensions, CBSE has already postponed certain Class 10 and Class 12 examinations in the region, while a few Class 10 papers have been cancelled. The revised dates for the postponed exams will be announced later through official circulars.

CBSE has reiterated that any official updates regarding board exams will be communicated only through its official website and authorised channels.
