CBSE to Take Two Board Exams For Class 10 from 2026, Click here for more details

In the recent updates formed, CBSE has announced that it will take the class 10 Boards twice in one academic year. It will be mandatory for all the students to appear in the first phase of the exams, which will be conducted in the month of February. The second phase will be taken in May, which will be optional for those students who want to improve their scores.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sanctioned the new rules on the basis of the National Education Policy (NEP), which advocates for reducing the stress of Board Exams by offering two chances in a single year.

CBSE Exams Controller, Sanyam Bhardwaj, talked about the results of the first exam in February will be announced in the month of April. The exams that would be held in May, their results would be announced in the month of June.

Students can always try to improve their marks in a total of three subjects: Maths, Science, Social Science, and languages.

The choice of giving the exams in one of the two phases can be opted for only by the students of the winter-bound schools, that in which phase of the academic year they want to appear for the Board Exams. While the Internal Assessments would take place only once in a year.

These new draft rules were first circulated in the month of February to get public feedback before finalising them.
