Timing would be very crucial if you are going to study law in any of the top, ranked National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. The deadline is almost there for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026, which is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU)
The final day for applying will be October 31, 2025, and those who have not completed the registration yet are recommended to proceed with it at the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in immediately.
CLAT or Common Law Admission Test is an entrance exam conducted at the national level that opens Bachelors of law (UG) and law Masters (PG) courses at the National Law Universities (NLUs) in India to students.
Thus, this test is attempted by lakhs of students from all over India every year. Such students want to study for career, oriented courses like LLB and LLM at NLUs which is next door to elite law colleges.
For CLAT UG (5, Year Integrated Law Program)
The student should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent scoring no less than 45% of the total marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
Any person of any age can take the exam.
The applicant must possess an LLB or equivalent qualification from a university duly recognized.
If the candidate is from the General category, he/she should have a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks, and those from the SC/ST categories should have 45%

According to the official schedule, the examination would be held in December 2025. There would be 120 questions divided into five parts: English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
If you are going to sit for the CLAT examination, it is not wise to delay your registration until the very last day. The likelihood of a technical failure or a last, minute mistake happening and thus, causing your failure to make it to the test is quite high.So, besides double, checking all the things and having your papers handy, don't forget that it is equally a very important thing to review your application prior to its dispatch.
