CUET‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ UG 2026: NTA New Advisory Regarding Exam, Aadhaar and Category Documents

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a new advisory on December 4, 2025, which indicates that the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 will be held in May 2026. The online application process will be available shortly. As for today (December 5), the notice can be seen on the CUET portal. 

Even though the exam will take place in May, NTA has instructed the students to get ready for the registration process by checking their documents and making sure that there are no mistakes in them. The advisory is aimed at avoiding last-minute rejections, authentication failures, and correction requests when the CUET form is accessed.

NTA’s New Directions for CUET UG 2026 Candidates

Document verification and updating is the most important step of filling out a CUET UG 2026 form. The applicants have to do it for the below-mentioned documents:

• Aadhaar Card — Mandatory changes, The name spelling should correspond to Class 10 certificate and the date of birth has to be correct. Also, the newest passport size photo has to be there along with the updated address and father’s name are necessary
• UDID / Disability Certificate (for PwD applicants) – Should also be renewed if the holder is eligible for renewal
• Category Certificate (EWS / OBC-NCL / SC / ST) – Must be valid and issued according to the format as per CUET regulations

NTA mentions that if there are differences between documents and application details, they may decide to reject the application or hold the results. Therefore candidates are advised to finish all their updates before the registrations begin.

Who Can Appear for CUET UG 2026

• Students who have passed or are appearing for Class 12
• General category: Minimum 50% in Class 12
• SC/ST candidates: Minimum 45%
• There is no upper age limit for CUET UG.

During the counselling and admission rounds universities may announce additional subject-specific and percentage requirements.

CUET UG acts as the common entrance mechanism for undergraduate admissions in Central Universities and various other colleges across India. Students can save a lot of time which they would have spent on multiple entrance exams and get a transparent and uniform method of evaluation.
