Under the Digital Equalizer Programme, the Delhi CM took the initiative to inaugurate 100 modern ICT (Information and Communication Technology) laboratories in government schools across the city. This programme is by the American India Foundation in partnership with the Ladli Foundation Trust. The event launch ceremony was held Delhi inaugurates 100 ICT labs in government schools under Digital Equalizer Programme to boost digital learning, teacher training and classroom technology infrastructure.at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden.

This time, the trained staff is there to oversee the proper academic usage to strengthen digital learning, as the school will have 20 computers and an interactive flat panel display to enhance the overall learning experience for the students. 

Additional Infrastructure Inaugurated

Along with the ICT labs, the Chief Minister also opened:

  • A new academic block at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya
  • A new District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) building in Dilshad Garden

The DIET facility contains 36 rooms and multiple laboratories designed for teacher training and professional development.

Government’s Education Upgrade Plan

The Delhi government stated its aim is to bring public schools at par with — or better than — private institutions through public-private partnerships. The programme will expand to include over 2,000 computers across 101 labs in total.

Education officials also confirmed:

  • Tender issued for 7,000 smart blackboards across 21,000 classrooms
  • Student-teacher ratio expected to improve from 55:1 to 40:1
  • CSR-supported labs will aid teacher training and skill development

Objective of the Initiative

The core focus of this initiative is to strengthen the digital infrastructure in classroom teaching methods, so that learning for students can be enhanced by using technology. As the purpose of this initiative is to improve educational facilities by offering technology-enabled education in government schools.
