Delhi University Announces 2nd Round of UG Seat Allocation

The Delhi University (DU) released the second round of undergraduate seat allotment, yesterday on 28th July 2025. It has continued the centralised admission procedure on the basis of Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) for the 2025-26 academic year. A total of 87,335 students were given the seats across all the colleges and programmes under the CSAS UG 2025.

The university saw a fresh round of 24,843 new admissions and 27,314 students were upgraded in the higher preferences, showing an important internal reshuffling after the first round. And, 17,922 students chose to freeze their seats, that were previously allotted.

The following changes came into effect after 43,741 students, who opted for an upgrade after the first list was announced. The second list will accommodate not only the fresh preferences but also the newly-vacated seats, giving thousand of candidates another chance to safeguard their preferred colleges and programmes.

The upgrade and reordering window for the second round was open till 4:59 PM on 25th July 2025. Candidates can check the latest and upgraded list of vacant seats on the DU admission portal.

The new academic year at Delhi University is going to begin on 1st August 2025, for which the faculty members have raised their concerns accusing the unresolved syllabus issues relating to some postgraduate courses and the freshly introduced fourth-year undergraduate programme (FYUP). There is no immediate response from the the heading-varsities over the accusations. Teachers are claiming that they are still waiting clarity on the final syllabus despite the proposals being made by the Executive Council meetings, which were held on the 23rd May 2025 and 12th July 2025.
