MHT CET 2026 Registration Live in December; Exam to Be Conducted Twice for the First Time

Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is expected to launch the MHT CET 2026 registration. The latest news suggests that the application window might be available either in the first or the second week of December 2025. Though the day has not been verified yet, it is anticipated that the announcement of the form will happen in the last week of December, which is quite comparable with the previous year's schedule.

It is a significant year in the history of the MHT CET pattern. DECC (District Exam Council Committee) will soon announce that the common test for engineering, pharmacy, and allied professional courses will be held twice in a year. Hence, Maharashtra becomes the first Indian state to conduct a bi, annual CET system for engineering admissions, a development that is at par with JEE Main.

The State CET Cell has already published the tentative dates for the exams. 

Applicants may choose to take one or both of the tests. The higher score will be taken into account for admission during CAP. 

Eligibility Criteria for MHT CET 2026 

Before applying, students must ensure they meet all requirements. Here is a simplified breakdown: 

Nationality 

The test is only open to Indian citizens. OCI/PIO/NRI candidates are exempted from taking CET and can be admitted on the basis of class 12 scores through a separate admission process. 

Age Limit 

MHT CET is free of age restrictions. 

Educational Qualification 

Should have passed Class 12 or currently be in Class 12 (2026). 

Subject Requirements for B.Tech Aspirants 

• Physics (Compulsory) 
• Mathematics (Compulsory) 

And one of the following: 

• Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject / Computer Science / IT / Informatics Practices / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies 

Minimum Marks in Class 12 

Category Minimum Percentage Required 

• General/Open 45% aggregate 
• Reserved (BC/EWS/ PwD of Maharashtra) 40% aggregate
