The IIT Guwahati has once again increased the deadline of registration with late fee to October 13, 2025, which will allow potential candidates to have more time to complete their applications to take part in the most sought-after Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

The last date of registration for GATE 2026 was originally set to be October 9, 2025, with late fee. But in a recent communication, IIT Guwahati made an announcement that the late fee registration will now be done till October 13, 2025. The regular registration without paying late fee was completed on October 7, 2025.

Those who failed to do so by earlier deadlines will be given a period of October 13 to place the applications at the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal at goaps.iitg.ac.in.

Late Fee Structure

The late fees charged on those who apply during the extended registration are an additional fee of INR 500 on top of the application fees. The entire late registration fee will be:

  • A female/SC/ST/PwD candidate: INR 1,500
  • All other applicants: INR 2,500

The money could be transferred through several options like debit card, credit card, UPI and net banking.
