The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 is basically a national-level exam conducted for taking admission to postgraduate engineering programs. The GATE 2027 registration schedule has finally been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras for candidates, with the application process is set to begin on 14th August, 2026.

How to Apply for GATE 2027

Go to the official GATE website
Register on the GOAPS portal visible on the screen
Fill in personal, academic, and contact details
Upload required documents
Pay the application fee & press submit

Application Fee

Female / SC / ST / PwD Candidates: ₹1000
Other Candidates (including foreign nationals): ₹2000

With Late Fee:

Female / SC / ST / PwD: ₹1500
Others: ₹2500

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, or Humanities from a recognized institution.
There is no age limit and no restriction on the number of attempts for GATE.
