IGNOU January 2026 Admissions: Deadline Extended Till Feb 28 for ODL & Online Courses

The new update from IGNOU is released, stating that there is an extension in both online and distance learning students. Now all the students who are eager to take admission now have the opportunity to register themselves as soon as possible as the admission to the January 2026 session is live till February 28, 2026. IGNOU provides a wide range of programmes including:

As candidates know that admission takes place each year, twice in January and July sessions. There are a lot of programmes available across multiple disciplines for the candidates like arts, commerce, science, management, education and social sciences. 

IGNOU 2026 Mode of Study

• ODL programmes: This is for all the learners who want to study through the regional centres and study centres both in India and abroad.
• Online programmes: Now this is something which is fully digital with online resources and communication via email/SMS

Students applying for online courses must have a stable internet connection and valid email ID.

How to Apply for IGNOU January 2026 Admission

1. Visit the ODL admission portal: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in
2. Click on New Registration and create an account
3. Fill personal, academic and contact details
4. Upload photograph, signature and required documents
5. Pay application fee through debit/credit card or net banking
6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page

Applicants should keep a copy of the submitted form and payment receipt for future reference.

Important Instructions

• This is for all learners that keep in mind that applying now will prevent last minute unsuccessful attempts later due to technical issues, that is why apply before 28th February, 2026 to secure admission.
• This is non negotiable to at least check and verify eligibility criteria and fee structure before submission of application
• One thing which leads to unsuccessful attempts and fail to secure admission is the process of uploading the documents, which means all the documents should be in correct size and format and should be checked before submitting to avoid any chance of rejection. are uploaded correctly incomplete forms may be rejected
