IGNOU Launches New MSc in Data Science and Analytics via ODL Mode

There is some great news for all the Open Distance Learning students that the Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a new Master of Science (MSc) programme in Data Science and Analytics (DSA) under its Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The goal of this programme is to provide individuals with the skill set of advanced data analytics, statistical and computational skills, which are a must in today’s generation for individuals. 

This launched programme by the IGNOU is not a normal one. The core issue being solved is that it enables individuals to focus on real-world problems, which is why the MSc in Data Science and Analytics is designed to prepare graduates for careers in data science, analytics, software development, research, and academia. 

Programme Objectives

The key objectives of the MSc (Data Science and Analytics) programme are to provide individuals with:

• It helps build a good foundation instatistical and computational methods.
• Also, it helps with developing skills to collect, manage, analyse, and interpret large datasets
• Applying data science techniques across domains such as business, healthcare, engineering, and social sciences
• Most importantly, it is helping all the individuals for professional roles in data science and analytics. 

Eligibility Criteria

• From all the recognised universities or institutions which are valid and ugc regulated, if any individual holds a Bachelor’s degree from any of those with a minimum of 3 years duration, then he/she is eligible. 

Programme Duration

• Minimum duration: 24 months
• Maximum duration: 48 months

Fee Structure

• ₹13,000 per semester
• One thing which is not included and will be charged separately is the registration fee, examination fee and also the development fee.
