IGNOU Opens Admissions in UG & PG, ODL and Online Mode for July 2025 Session, Registration Last Date 15th July 2025

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the admission procedure for the Open and Distance Learning (ODL)and Online Programmes of the July 2025 academic session. Interested candidates who want to apply for the various UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Postgraduate) programmes can visit the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in and get themselves registered in the programmes they are willing to apply for. The last date to apply is 15th July 2025, as announced by the institution.

IGNOU is offering a wide range of courses in the Certificate Diploma, Post-Graduate Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in various disciplines such as Humanities, Journalism, Computer and Information Science, Arts, Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Health Sciences, Translation Studies, Indian and Foreign Languages, etc.

The advantage of registering in IGNOU is that there is no upper age limit in applying to the various courses, making it easier for students of any age group or education gap to apply to the various programmes and get easy access to higher education. 

Additionally, now, as per the UGC guideline, a candidate can pursue two degrees or diploma programmes simultaneously. Either one of the programmes must be through the distance mode and regular mode, or both programmes can be through the distance learning mode.

The reserved category students from the SC or ST group, IGNOU offers a 50% exemption on the total fees in the selected programmes, such as the Bachelor of Commerce (BCOMF), Bachelor of Arts (BA), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc). IGNOU has simplified the process by eliminating the need to submit the Transfer Certificates from their previous institutions.

Steps to Apply to IGNOU July Session 2025-26

• Navigate to the official website of IGNOU at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
• Download the Common Prospectus of IGNOU to learn about the Rules of the University.
• Click on the NEW REGISTRATION tab in the candidate login area and fill in the required details by creating your username and password.
• Log in to the portal using the registered username and password.
• Search for the course you want to enrol in the search bar, select the course from the dropdown list and click on it. Now fill in the basic details asked in the open form.
• Upload all the previous information, like the proof of previous education.
• Pay the registration fee for the course and take a printout of the form.

IGNOU Application Fee

Candidates seeking admission in the general diploma, certificate, UG or PG courses are required to pay Rs. 300 INR as the registration fee.

Applicants of PGDMCH, DNA, PGCMOM, PGDGM, PGDHHM, and PGDHIVM need to give an application form fee of Rs. 500 INR.

IGNOU Admission Eligibility Criteria

• Students applying for the UG courses need to have a complete education in the 12th or any equivalent level of education from a recognised board.
• There must be a specified subject in the 12th grade.
• For PG level courses, he/she must have a bachelor’s education from a UGC approved university or institution.
• A minimum of 60-70%  must be in the graduation.
• For the various Ph.D courses, there must be a minimum of 60-70% marks in the graduation and master’s degree. Also, the IGNOU entrance test must have 60-70% marks.
