The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU or IP University) is inviting the interested candidates to apply for the admission under the orphan quota till 14th August 2025. The candidates can register themselves in the various programmes provided by the university. The university has reserved an extra additional seat in each of the 13 schools and a specialised center for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under the orphan quota. The application process is offline, and the candidates can check more details in this regarding, available on the official website at ipu.ac.in and ipu.admissions.nic.in .

The aspirants who want to apply against the Orphan Quota in the Indraprastha University will have to submit their application form attached with the death certificate of their parents given by a recognised child welfare authority. Further, the filled application form, as well as a bank draft of ₹2,500 in favor of the Registrar, must be sent to the University Facility Center, Dwarka Campus.

This Quota has been introduced by the university on the basis of “Single Girl Child Quota”, which was launched by the university the last year. Students who are enrolled in this quota would be eligible for a 100 per cent fee redemption under the scheme of EWS. The university would also try to give benefits in the various financial assistance schemes to the students, which are administered by the state and central governments.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma said that the university is aiming to provide education to all the students, and they don’t want orphan students to be deprived of the higher education due to any financial pressure. He also added that the Indraprastha University is the first university in India to start this quota for the orphans. The University has also started an admission chatbot service for giving instant answers to the queries related to the admissions in the various programmes of the new session. The link to this new service is available on the University’s main website at ipu.ac.in . By the use of this service, the prospective applicants would get instant answers to all the queries related to the admissions in several programmes for the new session, this was said in a statement issued by the university.

This year, IPU is offering 46 Master’s degree programmes, 40 PhD programmes, and 34 undergraduate programmes for a total of 40,000 seats.
