JEE Main 2026; NTA Releases Public Notice, Key Dates & Events You Must Know

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory outlining the information that candidates wanting to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main 2026 should know. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, namely January 2026 and April 2026; candidates will be able to appear in a Computer Based Test (CBT). The online application form for session 1 will be available from October 2025 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

To ensure the registration process goes smoothly, NTA has a tentative schedule for both the sessions so that all the candidates including the persons with disabilities (PwD) can get the benefits of the schedule. The agency also increasing the number of test cities to meet the needs of more engineering aspirants.

Important Guidelines for JEE Mains 2026 Aspirants

  • Aadhaar Authentication: After authentication through Aadhaar, NTA will fetch the data such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Photograph, and Address from UIDAI. Applicants are instructed to keep their Aadhaar details updated as per the support of UIDAI before filing the application form.
  • Parent's Details: Since Aadhaar does not contain Father/Mother/Guardian's name, candidates will have to fill it in the online application form separately. 
  • Name Mismatch Cases: If the name does not match between Aadhaar and 10th grade education certificates, candidates will be provided an option to correct the application during the application process. All provisions suggested for JEE (Main) 2025 will be applicable for JEE (Main) - 2026.

NTA is taking every measure possible in this regard, to ensure fairness and correctness in the exam process and to give the best of luck to all candidates.
