The National Testing Agency (NTA) has enabled the JEE Main registration demo link on the demo.nta.nic.in enabling the candidates to view the process of application process beforehand. This is positive news to the B.Tech and BArch aspirants who are looking forward to the official registration for the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2026.
The registration portal of the JEE Main 2026 has been hosted on the portal, demo.nta.nic.in. NTA releases the demo link prior to registration to help students become acquainted with the process of filling out forms. This gives the candidates an idea of the application process and qualifications even before the actual registration process commences.
According to sources at NTA, it is expected that the application process of JEE Main will start in the upcoming week. It will be registered in jeemain.nta.nic.in and the applicants will be allowed to apply within 10th -20th October 2025.
JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sittings, where session 1 will take place in January 2026 and session 2 will take place in April 2026. The test will be divided into two shifts, and the candidates will be given a chance to have their way.
Application Fee Structure
The Aadhaar card, UDID card and category certificate update should be done well before an aspirant to avoid complaints and rejections of the application. This is one step that the NTA has particularly highlighted due to the problems encountered by the candidates in the past years.
In the Aadhaar card, the students will be required to maintain their information, i.e. name, date of birth according to the Class 10 certificate, photograph, address and name of father. Some applicants had issues when they applied to take part in JEE Main in November last year due to a discrepancy between their name shown on their ID and the Class 10 certificate.
The Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates are advised to renew their Unique Disability ID Card (UDID) to avoid discrepancies. Also, the applicants of SC, ST, OBC-NCL and EWS are being asked to carry their latest documents along with them when subscribing to the application form JEE Main 2026.
The admissions into engineering and architecture programmes in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), as well as other participating institutes, will be based on the results of JEE Main 2026. The selection of candidates to be admitted to IITs will also be done based on the test to JEE Advanced 2026 test.
It is recommended that candidates check on the official site jeemain.nta.nic.in frequently to know about the date when the registration begins, among other related announcements. The number of students to be applied to is about 14-15 lakh, and this will require early preparation and checking of documents to ensure a smooth process of application.
The opening of the demo link is the major milestone of the JEE Main 2026 cycle examination, and it will give the aspirants enough time to prepare their documents and familiarise themselves with the application process before the real registration process begins.
