For all candidates waiting for their admit cards, they can now expect to receive them within this week, and over a million students are destined to be a part of the JEE Main 2026 Session 1, which will take place in over six days in two different shifts per day. The exam is scheduled to start on January 21, 2026. It is to note that the admit card is a crucial document to enter the examination centre, so awaiting candidates will get an opportunity to download the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card in a few days from the official site. 

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card: Latest Status

  • Admit Card Status: Expected soon

  • Release Pattern: 3–4 days before the respective exam date
  • Required on Exam Day: Printed admit card + valid original photo ID

As the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip is already out, Awaring students about the allotted exam date and city. Moreover, the admit card is not yet available; once live, all students will be able to view the complete centre address, shift details, and even reporting time to plan the day.

Expected Release Date of JEE Main 2026 Admit Card

Although the NTA has not released any date for the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card, as per the previous trend, these are some dates candidates can expect the admit card to be live:

  • For exams on January 21, 22 & 23: Likely around January 17 or 18, 2026
  • For exams on January 24, 28 & 29: Likely around January 19 or 20, 2026

How to Download JEE Main Admit Card 2026

After the release of the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card, candidates can follow the simple steps shared below:

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Admit Card”
  3. Enter application number and password/date of birth
  4. Enter the captcha code and submit
  5. Download the admit card and take multiple printouts

Are the JEE Main City Intimation Slip and admit card the same

Both the JEE Main City Intimation Slip and the admit card are different, and the core issue that the city intimation slip solves is that it informs candidates about the Exam city and exam date in order to provide them sufficient time for travel planning, which was already released on 8th of January, 2026. On the other hand admit card is something which tells exact centre details, shift, and reporting time, and this also plays a key role in entering the examination centre, as without an admit card, entry to the examination centre is restricted, and the admit card of JEE Main 2026 is expected to be out at mid january 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Update

The application process of JEE Main 2026 is not yet live and is expected to start from the third week of the january for all the candidates along with that the second attempt is expected to be held between April 2 and April 9, 2026.

Important Advisory for Candidates

  • Download the admit card as soon as it is released. After the release of the admit card, download it at the earliest convenience possible in order to avoid a later site crash. 
  • One should view and verify all the given details on the admit card. 
  • One thing non negotiable is that you must carry a valid govt ID along with the admit card to the exam centre. 
  • Lastly, reach the exam centre well before reporting time.
