Management Aptitude Test or MAT Exam is all set to begin its third phase of exams to be held in the month of August 2025. The MAT exam is held every year in four phases around in February, May, August, and December. Candidates can apply in any of the sessions of their choice. The upcoming session will be held on 20th July 2025 in the CBT mode. Candidates can apply for the same till 14th July 2025. MAT August 2025 dates will be announced later. Admission in the prominent Business Schools of India is based on the MAT exam scores and GD/PI. MAT gives the flexibility of multiple attempts, and the best of the score can be used for admissions to an MBA.

Eligibility for the MAT Exam 2025

MAT is a postgraduate (PG) National level standardised entrance examination based on the scores to get admission in the top B-Schools of India. Here is a list of the minimum eligibility criteria for the MAT Exam 2025:

• Graduation in any stream from a recognized university or equivalent institution.
• Students in the final year can also appear in the MAT exam.
• Candidates having a CA, CS, or ICWA degree are also eligible for the exam.
• No minimum score criterion to appear in the MAT exam.

MAT 2025 July Session Important Dates

From the upcoming July session onwards, the MAT exam will only be in the CBT (Computer-Based Mode). Here are some of the important dates for the CBT July session:

• Exam Date: 20th July 2025
• Registration Date: 14th July 2025
• Admit Card Release: 17th July 2025

MAT Exam 2025 Pattern

MAT is a 120-minute exam aimed at assessing students on a fixed pattern as follows:

• There are 150 questions in MAT 2025.
• Five sections.
• Every section has 30 questions.
• MCQ format questions, each having 4 options.
• Total 150 marks.
• One mark for each correct response.
• 0.25 mark is deducted for each incorrect response.

Steps to Apply in the MAT 2025 Registration and Application Process

• Navigate to the official website at mat.aima.in.
• Find the Register option on the homepage and click on the Register button.
• Enter the basic details and enter a password to register.
• Use the OTP you received on the phone to verify your phone number.
• Now, log in to access the MAT Application portal.
• Pay the application fee amount via debit/card or net banking.
• Fill in the remaining fields of the form.
• Upload the passport-size photo and signature in the prescribed size.
• Now, select the five institutes of AIMA to send your MAT score.
• Download a copy of the duly filled application form after submitting the application form.
