The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) has released an official statement that the polytechnic examinations that were to be held on December 1 and 2, 2025, have been delayed. The notification also informs that the choice has been made due to the fact that schools and colleges all over Maharashtra have been marked as polling stations for the local body elections.
Since municipal councils, nagar panchayats, and municipalities elections will be held on December 2, most of the institutes that are generally used as exam centres will now be used for polling booths, strong rooms, and other election-related activities. With both classrooms and auditoriums being occupied and the administrative staff being deployed for election duty, it has become infeasible to hold exams at this time.
The rescheduled timetable indicates:
|
Original Exam Date |
Re-Scheduled Exam Date |
|
December 1, 2025 |
December 4, 2025 |
|
December 2, 2025 |
December 5, 2025 |
The Postponement was made necessary because, Election officials occupied the three consecutive days. The day before polling, polling day, and the day after polling are entirely taken up with preparations, voting logistics, and other election-related administrative activities. Holding both events simultaneously might pose a threat to the security of both the election system and the examination system.
The rescheduled timetable is the same throughout the state, including:
Besides, colleges in all other MSBTE zones that are directly affected by the election duties are also included.
Students should only adhere to the new schedule and always check their college notice boards and the MSBTE website for any further information.
