NCAHP Declines UGCs Request of Offering Online and ODL Programmes in Psychology, Microbiology, F&N Sciences, Biotechnology & CN&D

NCAHP (National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions) has recently refused the request of UGC. This is in reference to the letter previously received from the UGC DEB (University Grants Commission - Distance Education Bureau) dated 20 February 2025. 

NCAHP cited the Section 2(e) of the NCAHP Act 2021, which states that “Allied and Healthcare qualification means a recognised diploma or degree possessed by an allied and healthcare professional through regular learning mode under this Act or any additional recognised course obtained thereafter….” 

Further, the NCAHP said that therefore any linked and healthcare programs (courses) which are corresponding to the various professions listed in the Schedule of the NCAHP Act 2021 which are obtained through the open and distance learning mode is not as per the provisions under Section 2(e) of NCAHP Act, 2021.

It stated that the commission is not in a state to include any of the listed programs in the Online/ODL mode under the NCAHP Act 2021 as this is the direct violation of the Act laid down by the Parliament.
