NEET PG 2025 Round 3 Update: MCC Withdraws 28 PG Medical Seats Before Allotment

The new update is out now for all the students, informing them that, according to the Medical Counselling Committee, a total of 28 postgraduate medical seats are no longer a part of the NEET PG 2025 Round 3 seat matrix that was also announced before the actual allotment process, but the reason for doing so is not normal and is requested by the selected medical colleges seeking removal of specific seats.

The seat matrix will be implemented before the actual round 3 seat allotment as per the MCC. As the dates for the Round 3 seat allotment are already out and are scheduled to be from January 27 to January 28, 2026. It is noteworthy that all the candidates should know about the updated seat availability well before exercising their choices.

What This Means for NEET PG Round 3 Candidates

• All those removed seats are no longer part of the round 3 seat matrix. 
• Choice filling should be done only after checking the revised seat matrix
• Seat availability may vary across specialities and categories

NEET PG 2025 Counselling Framework

For the insights of the students, MCC conducts counselling for the deemed universities, central universities and for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

The process of counselling includes several rounds, like Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. Moreover, the state authorities manage the counselling for the remaining 50% state quota seats. 

Revised NEET PG 2025 Cut-Offs

The cut-offs this time are reduced as per the released update by the NBEMS on 13th of Jan, 2026. For the ease of the candidates, below is the list:

• General: 103
• General-PwD: 90
• SC/ST/OBC (including PwD): 40

This time, the cut-offs are massively reduced compared to earlier times; this is done to improve the eligibility for a wider pool of individuals.
