The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will now have a separate platform to report the suspicious claims regarding the NEET-UG entrance exam for admission into medical colleges.
The platform launch came as a precautionary measure after several irregularities such as cheating, paper leak, and impersonation in last year's exam.
The officials said that the agency has advised the candidates not to be distracted by the elements who try to deceive the students with wrong claims and force them to indulge in malpractices.
Over 2.3 million students this year have registered for the NEET-UG exam, which is less than the 2.4 million registered students from last year in 2024.
NTA has announced that reporting of the suspicious activities on the platform will be entertained till 5 PM on 4th May, 2025, the same day on which the NEET-UG exam is scheduled.
The new platform would allow the candidates to report any of the fraudulent and suspicious activities falling under the three categories:-
Addressing the same matter, NTA Director General Pradeep Singh Kharola said that the form has been kept simple and allows the candidate to tell what they saw and what had occurred, on what place, and must upload the supporting documents.
He also added that this initiative is aligned with the Public Examinations Act, 2024 (Prevention of Unfair Means), which aims at eliminating unfair practices in the public examinations and must protect the future of the medical aspirants.
This act was started by the Centre after numerous complaints in the irregularities of the NEET-UG exam last year.
This act comes as a tool to curb the malpractices during the competitive exams, for which there is a provision for jail term of ten years and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore.
For more updates, keep visiting the official NEET-UG website of NTA, and remain informed about any new updates and events.
