NIRF Ranking 2025 Announced: IIT Roorkee is the topmost Architecture College in India

The Ministry of Education has announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2025. The annual list of the top institutions in the field of Architecture and Planning in India has been released. Based on the recent NIRF 2025 ranking, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee secured the number one position and continued to be the top institution for architectural studies in the country for research purposes. 

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is the oldest and most awarded technical school in Asia. Since its inception, it has always stood in positions of eminence with an equal emphasis on design innovation, research, and industry interface. Among other reputed colleges of architecture, IIT Kharagpur, the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in New Delhi, CEPT University in Ahmedabad, NIT Calicut, and NIT Trichy have also earned a reputation for good academic structures, advanced research infrastructure, and sustainable contributions to design principles relevant to the discipline.

The NIRF Rankings, issued every year by the Ministry of Education, assess institutions on the criteria of teaching excellence, learning resources, research publications, graduation scores, and perception. These rankings are a guide for students planning to make a career in architecture and planning.
