UGC Notice

Since the PSSSB Excise Inspector admit card is out to the candidates, there are some things which should be taken care of before going to the exam. Before any candidate walks in, it should be made sure that the candidate does not commit any of these 10 blunders.

  1. Marking Two Options for the Same Question

This is really the most common and most costly mistake that a candidate can make. It should be known by the candidates that there is no provision for correction once the sheet is marked. So, candidates should take their time and mark answers after thoroughly thinking.

  1. Overwriting or Scratching on the OMR Sheet

Any kind of overwriting, whitener, or any sort of scratch on the sheet can make it unreadable by the scanner. In any case, the answer sheet looks a little messy; it can simply go uncounted, which can lead to loss of marks.

  1. Not Carrying a Printed Admit Card

Since any sort of devices are not allowed, soft copies are not allowed as well. Any kind of screenshot or soft copy of the admit card will not be accepted. Candidates need to carry a printed hall ticket; without it, they will not be allowed inside the examination centre.

  1. Wrong or Expired Photo ID Proof

Admit card is not enough, candidate must need to carry a valid government-issued photo ID like Aadhaar Card, PAN card, Voter ID, etc. It is to note that an expired ID will not be accepted at the gate.

  1. Arriving Late to the Exam Centre

Arriving late to the exam centre may result in cancellation of entry. Candidates need to visit the examination centre at least 30-45 minutes early for a smooth transition.

  1. Going to the Wrong Exam Centre

Always double-check the exam centre address mentioned on your admit card the night before. Many candidates confuse similar-sounding venue names and end up at the wrong location entirely.

  1. Carrying Prohibited Items

Leave these devices at home, devices like mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, wallets with extra compartments, and any electronic gadget. If caught with prohibited items inside the exam hall, you risk immediate disqualification and potential ban.

  1. Using a Pencil or an incorrect pen on the OMR Sheet

The OMR sheet must be filled using a blue or black ballpoint pen only. Using a pencil, gel pen, or felt-tip marker can cause the sheet to be rejected during scanning.

  1. Leaving the Exam Hall Without Permission

Candidates are generally not permitted to leave the hall before a stipulated time. Getting up without the invigilator's approval, even for a washroom break at the wrong time, can attract unnecessary scrutiny or disqualification.

  1. Panicking and Leaving Questions Blank Unnecessarily

Unless there are negative marking clauses, leaving answers blank is a wasted opportunity. Many candidates panic under time pressure and skip questions they actually know. Stay calm, manage your time, and attempt every question you can.
