The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) is likely to declare the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) Mains Result 2026 between May 22 and May 25, finally giving some relief to thousands of teacher recruitment aspirants across Rajasthan. And honestly, “some relief” might be an understatement here. Students have been checking result dates so often that even browser history is probably exhausted now.
Alongside the result update, the board has also increased the number of vacancies by 2,000 posts after revising the recruitment notification. Rare government moment. People actually smiled after reading an update.
The REET Mains recruitment exam for Level 1 (Primary Teacher) and Level 2 (Upper Primary Teacher) was conducted in January this year. Since then, candidates have basically been living inside Telegram groups, coaching center rumors, and random YouTube thumbnails screaming “RESULT TODAY CONFIRMED.” Spoiler: it never was.
According to the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, preparations for releasing the REET Mains Result 2026 are nearly complete. Which, if you’ve followed government recruitment processes before, can mean anything between “almost done” and “please wait another emotional decade.”
Board Chairman Major General Alok Raj stated that the result for both Level 1 (Classes 1 to 5) and Level 2 (Classes 6 to 8) is expected to be announced between May 22 and May 25.
He further indicated that pending recruitment results under the board are likely to be declared between May 31 and June 3. So yes, RSSB’s calendar suddenly looks busier than a coaching institute during admission season.
The recruitment examination for REET teachers was conducted on January 17 and January 20, 2026. Back then candidates were discussing answer keys. Now they’re discussing stress levels. Growth, I guess.
The board clarified that the declaration of the REET Mains Result faced delays due to multiple reasons. Because one complication is apparently never enough when it comes to recruitment exams in India.
Officials stated that several objections were received from candidates over complex and disputed questions in the examination. Some questions confused students so badly that people probably started doubting their preparation, their coaching institute, and maybe even humanity for a minute there.
After expert review, a few questions are reportedly being removed from evaluation. That process slowed down the preparation of the final result.
Additionally, the unfortunate demise of board official P.L. Bairwa, who was handling key result-related responsibilities, also affected the timeline. The delay, according to officials, was impacted significantly due to this unforeseen situation.
In a significant update for candidates, RSSB has revised the number of teaching vacancies. Finally, a line in a notification that didn’t immediately increase blood pressure.
Earlier, the notification issued on November 6, 2025, announced:
The board has now increased vacancies in the Elementary Education Department from 5,000 to 7,000 posts, taking the total rise to 2,000 additional vacancies. Somewhere in Rajasthan right now, coaching centers are probably printing fresh “selection chances boosted” banners before the ink from the last banner even dried.
The increase is expected to improve selection opportunities for REET-qualified candidates awaiting final appointment. And for many aspirants, that extra 2,000 probably feels like spotting an empty seat in a crowded train. Small thing. Massive relief.
The board also shared updates on several ongoing recruitment processes in Rajasthan. Because recruitment season here never really ends. It just changes folders.
The Chairman said the Stenographer recruitment matter remains pending due to an ongoing court case. Meanwhile, results for Librarian and Village Development Officer (VDO) recruitment exams are expected soon.
In the VDO recruitment process, around 200 provisional cases are currently under review before final results are announced. So yes, files are moving, reviews are happening, and candidates are still refreshing websites every few hours like it’s a full-time job.
