SBI PO Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages:

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

The preliminary examination will consist of:

• Total Questions: 100
• Maximum Marks: 100
• Duration: 1 Hour

SBI has clarified that there will be no sectional cut-off in the preliminary examination. Candidates approximately ten times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on overall merit.

Phase 2: Main Examination

Candidates qualifying in the preliminary stage will be called for the Main Examination.

Phase 3: Interview and Group Exercise

Shortlisted candidates from the Main Examination will be invited for the final interview round and group exercise before final selection.

Negative Marking

There will be a penalty for incorrect answers in the objective tests.

For every wrong answer, one-fourth (1/4th) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No penalty will be imposed for unanswered questions.
