UGC NET December 2025 Notification Released: Applications Open Till November 7

The official announcement of the UGC NET December 2025 is published on the official site ugcnet.nta.nic.in, and now candidates who wish to take the examination can apply for the exam online till 7th November 2025.

It is also a valuable chance among potential candidates who are seeking to qualify for Junior Research Fellowships, Assistant Professor, and gain admission into PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges. One of the two annual exams that NTA holds to indicate eligibility in the higher education and research field is the December 2025 session.

Important Dates

According to the official program, the essential dates of UGC NET December 2025 are the following:

• Online applications: October 7, 2025.
• Deadline of application: November 7, 2025 (11.50 PM)
• Online Payment: Fees should be completed before November 7, 2025 (until 11:50 PM)
• Correction deadline of application: November 10 to 12, 2025 (11:50 PM)

The NTA will declare the date of examination, issue of admit cards, as well as the examination city intimation slip will be intimated later and will be intimated on the official site. 

Exam Format

The NTA would also conduct the UGC NET December 2025, which will be in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format of 85 subjects, which will offer candidates an enormous choice of subjects according to their educational background and career expectations. The exam is in the form of two papers i.e. Paper 1 is a general paper and contains 50 multiple choice questions of one hundred marks, the Paper 2 is a subject paper and contains 100 multiple choice questions of two hundred marks. The overall test time will be 180 minutes (3 hours), during which time the candidates will be required to do both papers.

Application Fee

Application fee on a category basis for UGC NET December 2025 will be:

• General: INR 1,150
• General-EWS/OBC (NCL): INR 600
• SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender: INR 325

Application fee could be paid through net-banking, debit/ credit card or UPI.

Important Instructions for Candidates

The applicants are made aware of the fact that they should use the actual portal to apply online. Each candidate will only have one accepted application. A valid email address and mobile number, which could be that of the candidate or his parents/guardians, are required since all the communications will be through these mediums.

The NTA will update the information about the examination date, issuance of the admit card and intimation slip about the exam city in due course.
