UP Government Renames 5 State-Run Engineering Colleges

Taking a historic step to instill good values in the new generation of students, the Uttar Pradesh government has renamed five state-run engineering colleges after the names of historical personalities and national figures. This will reshape the technical education outlook and give more of focus on the moral and cultural values.

The historic move is taken by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and it is approved by the state governor Anandiben Patel. The government pursues to blend the technical education with the ideas of justice, harmony, social awareness, and nation-building.

The Technical Education Minister, Ashish Patel, said that the renamed institutions would inspire the students to achieve both technical excellence and social leadership together.

The Rajkiya Engineering College, Pratapgarh has been renamed as Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Rajkiya Engineering College. Rajkiya Engineering College, Mirzapur, was renamed to Samrat Ashok Rajkiya Engineering College, and Rajkiya Engineering College, Basti, would be known as Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rajkiya Engineering College. Rajikya Engineering College, Gonda was renamed Maa Pateshwari Devi Rajkiya Engineering College, and Rajkiya Engineering College, Mainpuri would be known as Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Rajikiya Engineering College.

The above names would serve as an inspiration for the students and encourage them to imbibe the values of the great personalities. The move is beyond any kind of symbolism and would help in fostering self-confidence and responsibility among the students.

In the coming years, these institutions will prepare the candidates for the technical expertise as well as social leadership.
