UPES DAT 2026 Phase 1 Exam Begins Today: Check Dates, Pattern & Guidelines

The wait is over now, and phase 1 of UPES Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is officially out today on 22nd January, 2026. For all the candidates waiting now, they have a chance to begin with the test phase 1, as the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies has now finally released Phase 1. 

For those wondering in which mode the examination will be conducted, the authorities have decided to take it in online mode for filling admission into programmes like BDes and MDes at UPES Dehradun. 

From all over the india, candidates are eager and are appearing for this entrance test, and the test is to evaluate candidates' different sides, which includes creativity, visual sensitivity, and analytical thinking.

In the 60 minutes, the total number of questions is 100 that also in the form of objective type in the test.

Important Exam-Day Instructions

• For a better exam day experience, all the candidates can plan the login or reporting well before the time, which can be at least 30 minutes prior to the exam time.
• Do not forget to carry these two documents, as without them, the entry will not be permitted to the exam centre, which includes: an admit card or government ID.
• Note that not following the examination nature will not be entertained, which means any form of malpractice is strictly prohibited
• For those attempting the examination on a remote basis, will ensure that candidates must have good system compatibility and network connectivity. 

What After UPES DAT 2026 Phase 1?

The result of UPES DAT 2026 phase 1 will be out soon, once the exam takes place on the 24th Jan 24, 2026. Only those candidates who will be shortlisted will be able to move forward to the next personal interview round, which is only scheduled via a invite to successfully cleared students. Note that the final admission will be based only on the total overall performance measured in all stages during the selection process.
