The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) is going to soon release the UG merit list of the year 2025 on the official website of WBCAP at wbcap.in . The students who appeared can check their respective WBCAP seat allotment status and the next steps for admission on the same official website. The West Bengal Council of Higher Education (WBSCHE) was determined to release the WBCAP merit list on Thursday, but the phase one merit list hasn’t been released yet by the Council.
The registered applicants must log in to the official website to check in their WBCAP merit rank and seat allotment results once it is released. Those who have received a WBCAP seat must quickly complete the rest admission procedures to affirm their enrollment in the WBCAP.
Students who have been allotted a seat must promptly pay the seat acceptance fee using any of the available fee payment options, like the debit card or the credit card, UPI, or net banking, or the QR code. After completing the payment process, they must download the admission slip and report to the allotted college with all their required documents for the verification.
The postponement of the merit list comes in line with the postponement of the WBJEE 2025 results, which were originally scheduled to be released on the same day. This delay is followed by a court intervention, which is prompted by the complaints made from all the merit-listed candidates of both the WBJEE and JEMAS-PG 2024. These candidates voiced their concerns over all the potential breaches before the High Court directive in relation with the OBC reservation policies.
Justice Kaushik Chanda ordered a break in all the further actions of the admission process until a Division Bench reviews the stay application challenging the 21st May 2025 ruling. Responding to the ongoing uncertainty, the state government has extended the deadline for the undergraduate admissions via the centralised portal to 5th August, midnight. Although the students were allowed to update their category information on the same portal on July 29th, still the admission timeline has come to a standstill due to the unresolved legal matters.
