WBSSC Non-Teaching Staff Exams Scheduled on March 1 & 8; Over 16 Lakh Candidates to Appear

The non-technical staff written examinations of the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) 2025-2026 are set to be on March 1 and March 8 in different West Bengal locations

The state secretariat, Nabanna, approved the dates above, and the WBSSC has released the official notification for the same.

WBSSC Non-Teaching Exam 2026: Key Dates & Details

1. Exam Date for Group C - March 1, 2026
2. Exam Date for Group D - March 8, 2026
3. Centres for the Exam - Over 1,500 centres across West Bengal

Vacancies & Applicant Data

• Group-C Vacancies: 2,989
• Group-D Vacancies: 5,488
• Total Applicants: Around 16 lakh
• Group-C: ~8.13 lakh candidates
• Group-D: ~8.20 lakh candidates

Exam Pattern

• Group-C Written Test: 60 marks
• Group-D Written Test: 40 marks

Important Clarification by WBSSC

As per the commission, all those fraudulent candidates whose appointments were cancelled after the Supreme Court order dated April 3, 2025, will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

A list of 3,512 ineligible candidates has already been published:

• Group-C: 1,363 candidates
• Group-D: 2,349 candidates
