XAT‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ 2026 Registration Deadline Extended Again: Candidates Get Final Chance to Apply

The 2026 application deadline has been extended by the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur for one more time. Therefore, those aspirants who were not able to complete their forms may now take the opportunity of this extra time. The registration portal will be available until December 11, 2025, which is the last day to apply for one of the major MBA entrance exams in India.

The application process was live on July 10, 2025, and the closing time was already set. However, the institute has been prolonging the registration period day by day due to a long-standing demand. Thus, if you want to take the exam, you should not merely start your application but also complete it, including the document uploads and fee payment, within the updated timeline.

XAT 2026 will take place on January 4, 2026. It is a computer-based test that will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at various test centers in India.

Eligible applicants

Becoming eligible for XAT 2026 means holding a minimum of three years bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Students in their final year of graduation may also register.

XAT 2026 Online Application Procedure

• Go to the official website of XAT
• Select the "New Registration" option
• To generate login details enter the name, email ID and mobile number
• A verification mail with a link would be sent to your email address. Confirm the link to activate your account
• After logging in, fill out the form with your personal information, academic details, and work experience, if any
• Indicate which programme you intend to take
• Apart from the city where you will take the test, also choose the next five likely government test centers
• Attach your recent passport-size photo and signature in the proper format
• Complete the payment of the application charge online and then submit the form

After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ filling out the form, candidates are encouraged to print the confirmation page which will be their reference at a later time.

The registration period is now in its extension phase and therefore, candidates are no longer allowed to postpone their actions and must continue with their ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌applications. Besides XLRI, where XAT score is mandatory for admission, more than 1,000 business schools all over India accept XAT score, which makes the test one of the most popular MBA entrance tests in ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌India.
